ResDiary’s annual report is a data-driven initiative to support restauranteurs and venue operators with assessing performance against current trends in hospitality industry data and preparing for a successful year to come.

To better understand the hospitality industry and where it’s headed, we reached out to venue owners, operators and diners around Australia and New Zealand and compiled their insights. These suggest that while the industry has faced many challenges in recent years, there’s plenty of cause for optimism heading into a new year. 

For example: a standout stat from venue operators is that 76% are feeling positive for revenue growth in 2025 - with an average growth of 20% predicted!

Is 2025 set to be a transformative year for hospitality in Australia and New Zealand?

"After an in-depth survey of hospitality venue owners and operators, it looks like there’s plenty to smile about when looking ahead to 2025. 

Hospitality venue owners and operators in Australia and New Zealand are used to facing an array of challenges. In recent years, this has included economic issues resulting in ballooning operational costs for you, and less disposable income on the part of your customers. 

To provide a clearer understanding of the current industry landscape, we consulted 41 venue operators and 113 diners across Australia and New Zealand. We’ve pulled out all the critical data to help you prepare for 2025. 

Perhaps the most important finding of all is that 76% of surveyed operators expect to achieve more revenue in 2025, with just 7% expecting to achieve less. 

What this means is that for all the tough times endured in the last few years, there is light at the end of the tunnel.  

Of surveyed respondents who expect to achieve increased revenue in 2025, the expected increase is 20%. Our goal with this report is to support you in achieving this revenue growth, providing the insights and tips you need to make sure 2025 is a great time for your business.
