For one reason or another, a business journey might come to an end. This process may involve closing the doors for the last time, or handing over the keys to a new owner.
There’s so much to be done once that decision is made. There’s the legal and financial responsibilities, notifying customers and suppliers, organising the last few days, weeks or months of trading, figuring out what to do next and so on.
One thing that can be relatively easy is handing over a ResDiary account to the new venue owner. According to ResDiary Australia & New Zealand’s Customer Success Lead Hayley Robertson, the outgoing owners are setting the new owners up for success by handing them a fully set up reservations platform that is ready to take bookings.
“We have made the process as simple as possible to make it easier for business owners during this transition period,” Robertson says.
“When a ResDiary customer sells their business, all they will need to do is contact our support line and let us know that they have sold their business, and inform us of the new owners details, including their name, phone number and email address.”
“We will take it over from there, and take the necessary steps to update the ResDiary account and new contact and billing details, making the diary changeover a seamless transaction.”
“An added bonus for previous owners handing over their ResDiary account to new owners is they will not have to cancel their subscription and will not have an outstanding cancellation fee.”
A small checklist
For new business owners who have taken over an existing hospitality venue, there’s a raft of decisions to be made. Even if they overhaul the business, it may prove to be beneficial for the new owners to take over the ResDiary account.
On top of all the features built into the ResDiary’s platform, the new owners are legally allowed access to the customer database which includes data such as previous bookings at the venue. This may help the new owner/s forecast future reservations.
According to Robertson, if the new owner wishes to take over the existing ResDiary account, the transition between owners is simple with no interruptions to the day-to-day management of the business.
“When the new owners take over the ResDiary account, all of their venue settings are already set up. They don’t have to invest their time in researching and setting up [a new] platform, and they can focus on jumping into their new business venture with both feet, knowing they are already getting bookings coming in the door.”
What happens next?
After taking over an existing ResDiary account, there may be a period where the new owner becomes familiar with the functions and opt-ins built into ResDiary. There are a range of training sessions and videos on offer – from rudimentary to in-depth –to help get the best out of the table management system.
“We have plenty of help and training content through our support channels as well as a range of training options to suit individual requirements. Customers can contact our support team (email@example.com) at any time, and we are happy to guide them through any diary changes or book them into our training calendar at a time that suits them best.”
If this were a pen-and-paper diary, the transition from the original to new owner could be complicated, with plenty of decoding to be done. But, with ResDiary, much of the handover work is done behind the scenes.
